The apartment on the ground floor was spacious, providing a quiet and clean retreat for our family during our three-night stay. We loved the comfort of the beds and the cleanliness of the bathroom. Although breakfast wasn’t available for purchase, we enjoyed exploring the nearby Carraig Fhada Lighthouse and found the location incredibly convenient for our adventures.

The host is exceptionally friendly and attentive, really making sure you feel welcomed. The location is convenient, just a short walk from the ferry. The breakfast offered is quite enjoyable, and it’s practical that the breakfast room is available for enjoying takeaways in the evening.

Dinner choices in the area are quite limited.

The breakfast spread was excellent—think hot bacon, ham, and even homemade whiskey marmalade. Plus, the room was spacious and well-suited for a group, providing enough space to lounge without feeling cramped.

The WiFi signal in certain rooms was spotty, and while the overall bathroom situation was okay, having to share facilities outside the room was a hassle—especially at night. The acoustics of the hallways were a bit annoying, with door locks pinging and clashing like a symphony at dawn. It wasn’t enough to ruin the stay, but it was noticeable on a couple of mornings.

The Twin Room was bright, clean, and comfortable, perfect for unwinding after exploring. The private bathroom, though down the hall, was surprisingly spacious and well-maintained.

The beds felt a bit cramped for taller folks, and there were some missing essentials like an iron and basic provisions, such as milk. The shower stall in one room was quite tiny, making it a bit tricky to maneuver during a wash, but there are plans for upgrades in the future. a damp odor came from the washing machine, which could use some attention.

Cala Sith Guesthouse is truly a gem. Our family room offered a lovely view of the sea, and the wooden floors enhanced the charming atmosphere. Breakfast was varied and satisfying, while the location near the Calmac ferry dock made it incredibly convenient. AJ provided us with helpful tips, and the staff were responsive to our requests.

the cala sith guesthouse is perfectly located right by the ferry terminal. my double room had a stunning sea view and was very clean and cozy, with a lovely en suite bathroom. the continental breakfast was delightful, and aj, who hosted it, made me feel incredibly welcomed.

Cozy stay in the heart of it all

Spent 2 nights here and we were so lucky! The owner was super nice and really helped us feel at home. The room was neat, and the breakfast spread had a ton of options. Only bummer was the dinner choices nearby were kinda slim. Overall though, great place to unwind after exploring.

The Twin Room was super comfy and clean, just what we needed after cycling. The private bath had great hot water and pressure, which was a huge plus. I loved the spaciousness and the cozy vibe. The location was perfect for exploring Port Ellen too. Staff were really kind! Just remember there aren’t many dinner options nearby.

Just a reliable pick for a weekend in Port Ellen with reasonable value. The breakfast spread was impressive, especially the homemade whiskey marmalade.
